Release Notes - 2:18 PM PST. Posted By: BreeOge

The following additions, fixes and changes were made to the live shards on December 13th, 2005...

Client 379.10.1

  • Corrected a case where end caps were not showing up correctly.
  • Improved the look of the player locator arrow in the planning overhead view.
  • Requirements checking is only performed on development shards (Blight)
  • Part I of fix for some machines not showing dialog boxes (they show up behind render window)
  • If render window ends up outside screen bounds, then move the window back within screen bounds
  • Added a check at shutdown to prevent crashing
  • Fixed bug when you try to delete finished structures in dragon lairs, if you had any unbuilt planned structures it would warn you about connectivity issues.
  • Removed unneeded resource check that may have been caused intermittent hitching
  • Added minimum hardware requirements checking at startup
  • Anything below the terrain will not orient themselves with terrain above them.
  • If a quest updates while the quest window is open it will remember which quests were expanded and keep them expanded after the refresh
  • When you are advancing a planned structure to a new locator and it skips one of the seemingly available locators because of terrain protusion issues it now warns you with the following message:
    • "Skipping locator because planned structure "your structure name" would extend through the terrain above."
  • Logic for saving window extents properly checks if the save values are within the current resolution - otherwise doesn't save them.
  • Lair structures will now move properly from the Planning tab to the Building tab.
  • Corrected intermittent disconnects when authenticating
  • If graphic or texture detail is set to an invalid value, reset to maximum performance and report to user.
  • You should be able to see Buildings under construction in your plot window even when far away from your plot now.
  • Tweak to first time loading - first time users will see file cache progress more correctly displayed.
  • Default graphic and texture options changed to Maximum Performance.
  • Disabled 3D audio devices so crashes don't occur
  • Changed the player marker in the plot window from a square to an arrow for easier detection of direction.
  • Minor optimization to improve load / portaling times when loading window is displayed.
  • Time to cache files at startup should be reduced.

Release Notes - 7:16 PM PST. Posted By: BreeOge

New Event: Winter Festival

Despite the ongoing attacks from the Withered Aegis, the Living Races refuse to allow their spirit to be dominated. As much a show of defiance as a desire to find the silver lining, the Gifted and Non-Gifted alike celebrate the closure of another year, and a fresh start on the new one.

Additions:

  • Added Beginner Cut Gem and Beginner Essence Orb formula to Kerian the Dragon Crafter on New Trismus Island.
  • Added a Tier 6 Lunus Gemworking chamber.
  • Relstaroth the Lairshaper will now offer you a way to obtain formula he previously gave you in quests. This is in case they are mistakenly deleted or lost.
  • Relstaroth the Lairshaper now carries all Journeyman formulae related to Lairshaping as well as selected Expert and Master formulae. Relstaroth has refused to use the standard payment methods utilized by the Empire, instead he only accepts coin as payment for formulae.
  • Solistan the Emblem Recognition Officer has been granted permission to hand out an Emblem for Expert Dragon Crafters.
  • Lairshaping Mastery V and VI quests are now available to players at levels 80 and 100 respectively of the Lairshaper school.
  • Crystalshaping Mastery IV and V quests are now available to players at levels 70 and 90 respectively of the Lairshaper school.

Changes/Fixes:

  • Primal Boon is now useable by Dragons.
  • Increased the radius for opening your vault on a Helian and Lunus Vaultkeeper chamber.
  • Adjusted the rate at which Ornaments will be received from indigenous monsters and resource nodes. This should happen more frequently than before.
  • Expert Excoriation formula now asks for Lairshaping Ability instead of Stoneworking Ability.
  • Green Vexator Fringe will now appear green instead of purple.
  • Dragon Crafting Quests on New Trismus that are given out by Kerian will now award Beginner Lore Tokens.
  • Quest “Kion Militia Delivery for Felessi” now has an improved XP and Coin Award.
  • Updated the appearance of Yew and Fine Yew Shillelagh. They now appear as proper shillelagh and cannot be tricked.
  • Elm Shillelagh and Fine Elm Shillelagh no longer have any tricking options.
  • Miner Trainers will now give out “Craft 35 Mithril Bars” and “Craft 35 Mithril Bricks” at level 90.
  • Beginner Scalecraft Recharge Kit will now ask for Dragon Scalecraft ability instead of a Smithing Hammer.
  • Cleric ability, Protectorate, can now be used on players as low as Level 5.
  • Increased the chance for Poison Sacs to drop when a player is on the Cleric quest “Collect Poison Sacs to Study”.
  • Crystalshaping Mastery III will now properly display the counter for Amber Crystalline Lattices as you make them.
  • Corrected the appearance and tricking options for Battle Axes, both standard and Fine. They will now appear as proper Battle Axes instead of Large Axes. Cobalt Battle Axes will now have one tricking option available, while Mithril will have two.
  • Corrected the appearance and tricking options for Large Axes, both standard and Fine. They will now appear as proper Large Axes instead of Battle Axes. Cobalt and Mithril Large Axes will now have one tricking option available.
  • Corrected the appearance and tricking options for Quarterstaves, both standard and fine. They also have improved tricking options available to them.
  • The quest “Blacksmith Wanted Cedar Cudgels” will now properly recognize Cedar Cudgels when you return them to Geoff the Pawnbroker.
  • Giant Daze will again be useable in combat and against foes.
  • Fall Harvest Treats formulas will now grant XP upon creation of the Festival Foods.
  • Removed Journeyman formula from Kerian the Dragon Crafter on New Trismus Island.
  • Standard Bright Crystal of Holding should now correctly require a Crafting Level of 60, instead of Adventurer Level of 60.
  • Attunement to Drakul quest should now be obtainable and completable.

Client Updates:

  • If graphic or texture detail is set to an invalid value, settings will revert to maximum performance and feedback will be given to the user.
